"Ten Good and Bad Things about my life so far" by Ann M. Martin as one of the greatest books I've ever read. It becomes a past tense of the main character Pearl Littlefield's summer vacation when she enters 5th grade and her new teacher Ms. Brody has them write an outline and an essay on their summers. Pearl was excited to take a trip to the Wild West for her summer vacation but quickly becomes disappointed when her father comes home from work and announces he has been fired and their Vacation turns into a Staycation. Along the way for new best friend James Brubaker the third (JBIII) get into a fight into a fight that ends with JBIII in the hospital (On accident) and her older sister Lexie gets a job. Pearl learns to live with her fathers being fired and finds out that her summer is a
lot different than she thought it would be. I
